Dr. Nandita Dev, daughter of the late Sailendra Nath Dev and the late Dipti Dev, a renowned classical vocalist with Akashvani, is a distinguished figure in the world of Indian classical dance. A triple gold medalist in Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Rabindra Nritya, Dr. Dev’s journey in dance is marked by her exceptional talent and dedication. She trained at the prestigious Pandit Uday Shankar India Cultural Academy under the guidance of Guru Amala Shankar, where she honed her skills to perfection.
Dr. Dev’s excellence in Kathak and Rabindra Nritya earned her the esteemed Guru M.L. Kosar award from Prachin Kalakendra, Chandigarh. Her achievements are further highlighted by prestigious titles such as Nritya Bibhushan, Nritya Ratna, and Guru Gaurav, awarded by Banaras Hindu University. Her dance lineage is enriched by the tutelage of revered gurus—Guru Rajlakshmi Venkateshwari and Guru KPP Thampi in Bharatanatyam, Guru Bela Arnab and Guru Rajen Basu in Kathak, and the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj. She also trained in Odissi under Dr. Murlidhar Majhi.
